Legal
Content Policy
The short version
You, Host’d gives you a page to represent yourself or your business online. You’re responsible for what you put on it. Don’t use it to harm, deceive, or exploit other people. If a page breaks the rules below, we may disable or remove it, and in serious cases close the account.
What isn’t allowed
You may not publish, link to, or use a You, Host’d page for:
- Illegal content or activity — anything unlawful where you or your visitors are, or content that promotes or facilitates it.
- Deception and fraud — scams, phishing, fake offers, misleading claims, or pretending a page is affiliated with someone it isn’t.
- Impersonation — posing as another person, business, or organisation, or using a name, logo, or identity you don’t have the right to use.
- Harassment and hate — content that threatens, bullies, or targets a person or group, or that attacks people based on who they are.
- Adult or explicit content — pornographic or sexually explicit material, and any sexual content involving minors, which we report to the authorities.
- Malware and abuse of the platform — distributing malicious code, or using the service to attack, overload, or interfere with others or with our systems.
- Infringement — using someone else’s copyrighted work, trademark, or other protected material without the right to do so.
- Privacy violations — publishing someone’s private or personal information without their consent.
This isn’t an exhaustive list. We may act on anything that puts other people, our service, or our business at risk.
Reporting a page
Anyone can report a page they believe breaks these rules using the “Report this page” link in the page footer. Reports are confidential. We review every report, though we can’t always share the outcome.
What we do about violations
Depending on how serious the problem is, we may:
- review the page and its account,
- disable or remove specific content,
- take the page offline, or
- close the account.
We try to act proportionately, but we make the final call, and we may act without notice when the situation calls for it. Losing a page for a policy violation is different from closing your own account — see Terms for how account closure and handle release work.
